Hay Solar Farm Commences Construction

Our Hay Solar Farm has officially broken ground! We were delighted to host the Mayor of Hay Shire Council, Cr Carol Oataway and local land-owner John Headon who joined with our CEO Philip Graham at our sod-turning event to mark construction commencement at the 7.5 MW Hay Solar Farm, located on Wiradjuri/ Nari Nari/ Yitha Yitha Country in south-west NSW.

The energy generated at the Hay Solar Farm, along with a number of other mid-sized solar farms that CleanPeak Energy is currently developing in regional NSW, will offset emissions from grid supplied electricity used by tenants in Sydney’s iconic Barangaroo Precinct.Under the landmarkGreen Product Price Agreement (GPPA) between Infrastructure NSW and CleanPeak Energy, Barangaroo will remain carbon neutral until 2050 – thanks to the energy that will be supplied from our Hay Solar Farm.

Speaking at our event, Mayor Oataway remarked on the opportunities that the clean energy transition is bringing to Hay and the surrounding region, From construction to hospitality, our local cafes, restaurants, motels, and hotels will see a boost as they support the workforce behind this project” she said.
