Moama Solar Farm Commences Construction

Our Moama Solar Farm has officially broken ground! We were delighted to host the Mayor of Murray River Council, Cr Frank Crawley, at our sod-turning event which also featured a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country by Yorta Yorta elder, Uncle Des Morgan.

The 7.5 MW Moama Solar Farm, located in southern NSW, is set for completion by the end of this year and is one of a number of mid-sized regional solar farms being developed by CleanPeak Energy that will help NSW on the path to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

The Moama Solar Farm is a 7.5 MW project, comprising 10,000 solar photovoltaic panels, and is expected to supply 15 GW hours of power when commissioned. Construction of the solar farm is expected to be completed by the end of the year with the energy generated fulfilling part of CleanPeak Energy’s Green Product Purchase Agreement with Infrastructure NSW to offset carbon emissions at Sydney’s Barangaroo precinct.

During construction, the project is expected to employ a workforce of 65 people locally and contributing to the Moama local hospitality economy. CleanPeak Energy CEO, Philip Graham, addressed the measures the company has taken in regard to local neighbours, “We are rolling out several solar farms in the region in a manner that considers neighbours with planting, dust and noise managements at each of our sites whilst delivering 100% renewable energy solutions to customers”.
